Interface Introduction
Welcome!
Within this guide, you will learn how to use all of the main features within TradingLite.
Whilst we recommend users new to TradingLite, to start with this guide, if you'd prefer to a brief overview, please see our Quick Start guide.
We will split this guide into various sections, providing you with a solid foundation to get you started.
Some sections will also provide links to further reading, to ensure that each concept is covered to the fullest.
We strongly recommend having this guide open in one tab, whilst having the TradingLite platform open in another, in order to follow along. If you have not done so already, you can sign up here.
Let's begin!
'Layers' & 'Panes'
Upon successful registration and login to TradingLite, you will be presented with the default chart layout.
By default, within your initial chart layout, you will find:
- Traditional candlestick price-chart ('Main')
- Volume
- Heatmap
- Heatmap Lens
- VPVR
- Grid
Each of these elements within your chart, is called a ‘Layer’.
All of these elements are within a single ‘Pane’ (Pane 0).
‘Layers’ can be arranged within multiple ‘Panes’.
TradingLite uses ‘Panes’ to manage different areas of the chart’s layout.
By default, 'Pane 0' will be the primary 'pane', displaying your chosen price chart (Main), in addition to the Heatmap, and other price related/dependent indicators.
You can add, remove and lock panes to suit your preference, and also adjust the scales within each of your panes.
Chart Settings
Customisation of your chart window is achieved via the ‘Chart Settings’ button, in the bottom-left of your screen.
Once here, you will have the ability to organise and configure both your 'Layers' and 'Panes', whilst also customising the look and feel of your charts via the ‘Customize Theme'.
Layer Settings
'General' chart settings include the ‘Right Margin’ setting, which allows user definable spacing between the current candle and the price scale, plus also the ability to reset all layers and chart settings via the ‘Restore Defaults’ button.
To begin to configure each of the layer/indicator's settings, start by 'Chart Settings', then clicking on the layer/indicator you wish to customise.
All layers/indicators will have the option to toggle their visibility, in addition to toggling whether their 'label' will be visible, which will be seen in the top right hand corner of its designated pane.
Toggling the 'label' option, will also enable a shortcut to show/hide the layer/indicator, plus the ability to quickly view the layer/indicator’s settings . These handy shortcuts are shown when hovering over its label.
Within the 'Layer Settings' you have the ability to sort (either via drag and drop, or by using the 'up' and 'down' icons upon hover), duplicate and delete your Active layer/indicators, into a pane of your choice.
Note: If you remove an indicator layer, you will still need to ‘deactivate' it via the ‘Indicators’ button in the bottom left of your screen, to avoid using your maximum indicator limit (dependant on your subscription plan).
Customize Theme
Choose from a range of different themes to alter the visual appearance of TradingLite and the Heatmap.
Within the 'Customize Theme' menu, you have the ability to change the colour of:
- Candlestick body
- Candlestick borders
- Volume
- Volume Profile
- Chart Background
- Axis
You are also able to restore the default colours by clicking ‘Restore Defaults’.
Indicators
Whilst a full Indicators guide is available, we will cover the basics here.
Clicking the ‘Indicators’ button will allow the ability to browse, activate, deactivate and favourite both TradingLite’s official Indicators, in addition to the growing list of community published indicators within the ‘Script Vault’.
When browsing community scripts, a search field and advanced filters are provided to narrow the results displayed.
Here, you also have the ability to create and manage your own scripts using TradingLite’s advanced scripting language, LitScript.
In addition, you can also add community scripts that are ‘Unlisted’ by entering the LitScript ID given to you by the script’s author.
As stated previously, for more information regarding Indicators see the Indicators guide.

The Heatmap is one of TradingLite’s core features. Details of all aspects of the Heatmap, to maximise its utility to your trading methodology, is available here.
The sliding scales allow a greater degree of granularity in the visualisation of the Heatmap.
The first scale allows you to quickly select the minimum unit value of the Heatmap. This will remove low value orders from the heatmap.
The second scale allows you to quickly select a maximum percentage of the peak unit value.
The dropdown, which accompanies the sliders, allows the ability to finely tune the minimum and peak unit values. This dropdown also displays the pair’s contract details. This includes the value of one unit, in addition to the HD/SD Heatmap block size.
